Apple Blackberry Crisp
FILLING: 6 golden Delicious apples 2 cups blackberries (fresh or frozen) 1/2 cup sugar 2 tablespoons flour
Preheat oven to 350º. Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish. Peel and core apples. Cut into thin slices. Place apples in prepared dish. Top with blackberries. (If using frozen berries, do not thaw first.) Sprinkle with sugar and flour.
TOPPING: 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) 1/3 cup butter, melted 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Combine oats, flour, nuts, butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl till crumbly. Sprinkle Topping evenly over Filling. Bake till fruit is soft and bubbly and Topping is browned, 35–40 minutes. Serve warm, topped with ice cream or whipped cream. Serves 6.
