Lemon Chicken for the Grill

2 chickens, cut in pieces     
1 cup vegetable oil     
1 tablespoon salt    
2 teaspoons onion powder     
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoons crushed basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Place chicken in 13x9-inch glass dish.  Combine remaining ingredients, blending well.  Pour over meat and cover tightly.  Chill 6 hours, turning chicken occasionally.  Remove from refrigerator 1 hour before grilling.  Cook 20-25 minutes on medium heat on grill, basting often and turning for 20 minutes.
