Gold Leaf Pecans

Gold Leaf Pecans

These are the ultimate treat!

¾ cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon each: nutmeg, allspice, and cloves

1 egg white

2½ teaspoons water

8 cups pecan halves

¾ teaspoon edible gold leaf

Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Combine sugar, spices, egg white, and water in a zipper bag. Add pecans, and coat well. Spread on lightly greased, foil-lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle with gold leaf. Bake for 50–55 minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove and cool on wax paper.
