Pecan Pie Squares

CRUST:
3 cups flour   
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar   
3/4 cup margarine, softened
Dash of salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a jellyroll pan.  Combine ingredients until crumbly.  Press firmly in pan.  Bake 20 minutes. 

FILLING:
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups sugar     
1 1/2 cups Karo syrup   
3 tablespoons margarine, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Mix first 5 ingredients until well blended.  Stir in pecans. Pour Filling over Crust; spread evenly.  Bake 25 minutes.  Cool.  Cut in 1 1/2-inch squares.  Makes 36.
