My Favorite Mix, Made Easy
Put a bowl of this mix out on your counter or coffee table, and people will wonder what brand you’re buying. It’s simply more fun to just smile and say that it’s a secret.
4 cups Corn Chex cereal
2 cups Wheat Chex cereal
2 cups mini pretzels
11/2 cups square cheese crackers
1 cup roasted cashews
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2/3 of 1 (1-ounce) envelope powdered ranch dressing mix
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Place Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, pretzels, cheese crackers, and cashews into the crock of a slow cooker.
Whisk together remaining ingredients and drizzle over the snack mix in the slow cooker, tossing to lightly coat all.
Set the cooker to LOW, cover, and let cook 1 hour.
Uncover, stir, and let cook uncovered 1 additional hour.
Spread on a sheet pan and let cool at least 15 minutes before serving. Store in an airtight container.
Make It Yours
Any combination of Rice, Corn, or Wheat Chex cereal will work, though I find that the Rice Chex can get a little soggy. Mixed nuts or dry roasted peanuts can be used in place of the more expensive cashews.
