Jack Criss, 39, is a native of Jackson, Mississippi.
His first series of major published articles—album reviews—appeared in 1981. Criss hosted a popular, afternoon
drive-time talk show on WJNT Newstalk 1180 from 1987-1992, with a brief stint spent at WSLI Radio. He interviewed live,
among many others, William F. Buckley, Jr., Robert Bork, Jesse Jackson, Leonard Peikoff, Michael Kinsley, Fred Barnes,
Charles Murray and Allan Bloom.
Criss has worked as managing editor of the Jackson Business Journal, owner/publisher
of the Jackson Business Journal/Metro Business Review, founder/co-publisher of the Mississippi Jewish Record,
associate publisher and publisher of Forward Mississippi, executive editor of the Delta Business Journal,
and executive editor of Delta Magazine, as well as executive vice-president of the public relations/advertising firm,
Coopwood Communications, Cleveland, Mississippi. He is currently publisher of the business paper, Metro Business
Chronicle.
His articles and op-eds have appeared in: Mississippi Business Journal, The Clarion-Ledger,
The Northside Sun, the Republican Liberty Caucus News, the Association of Objectivist Businessmen News, Full Context, Mississippi
Woods and Waters, and others. Criss has made frequent appearances on Mississippi ETV’s Statewide Live discussing
political issues and is a noted speaker, covering topics ranging from political philosophy to customer service.
Criss is the current president of the national organization The Association of Objectivist Businessmen and has been active
with the Metro Crime Commission in Jackson, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Epilepsy Foundation and was a former member of
the Downtown Jackson Rotary Club.
Criss is married to Natalie West Criss, herself a noted business writer, and
the couple have two children: Katie, 12, and Dagny, 3. They live in Brandon, Mississippi. He is a graduate of
Wingfield High School in Jackson and attended Hinds Junior College and Millsaps College where he studied philosophy.
